At ASSCOD, our mission has always been to create sustainable and thriving communities. In partnership with OFSI, we are excited to announce a new initiative, “Integrating Health Activities with Livelihood Enhancement Programme.” This project is a significant step toward ensuring better healthcare access for women and children in our tribal communities. By training women as lay first aiders and conducting regular health camps, we aim to bridge the healthcare gap and enhance community well-being.
Project Overview: The “Integrating Health Activities with Livelihood Enhancement Programme” is designed to provide essential healthcare services while also promoting livelihood opportunities. Here’s a closer look at what this project entails:
- Selection and Training of Lay First Aiders:
- We have selected 18 women from the target villages to undergo comprehensive training in basic health screening and first aid techniques. These women will become the frontline health advocates in their communities, equipped with the skills to provide immediate care and refer individuals to appropriate healthcare services.
- Monthly Health Camps:
- Starting Next month, we will be conducting health camps in 15 target villages. These camps will offer basic health screenings, provide essential healthcare services, and raise awareness about preventive health practices. Our goal is to ensure that every member of the community, especially women and children, has access to the healthcare they need.
- Data Collection and Analysis:
- An integral part of this project is the systematic collection and analysis of health data. Lay first aiders will maintain detailed records of the health services provided and track the health outcomes in their villages. This data-driven approach will help us measure the impact of our interventions and make informed decisions to improve community health further.
Expected Outcomes: Through this project, we expect to achieve several key outcomes:
- Improved Healthcare Access:
- By training lay first aiders and conducting regular health camps, we aim to improve access to healthcare services for women and children in tribal communities. This will lead to early detection and treatment of health issues, reducing the burden of illness.
- Empowered Women:
- Training women as lay first aiders not only equips them with valuable skills but also empowers them to take an active role in the health and well-being of their communities. This empowerment can lead to increased confidence and opportunities for these women.
- Enhanced Utilization of Government Resources:
- One of the key components of our project is to create awareness about available government health resources. By providing referrals and guidance, we aim to ensure that community members can access and benefit from these resources.
- Data-Driven Health Improvements:
- The systematic collection and analysis of health data will allow us to track the progress and impact of our interventions. This evidence-based approach will help us make necessary adjustments and ensure continuous improvement in community health.
The “Integrating Health Activities with Livelihood Enhancement Programme” is a testament to our commitment to creating sustainable and healthy communities. We are grateful for the support of OFSI and look forward to witnessing the positive impact of this initiative. Together, we are empowering women, improving healthcare access, and fostering a brighter future for our communities.
