Join us as we share a series of inspiring impact stories highlighting the transformative power of solar lighting distributed to tribal communities by ASSCOD, with generous support from Schneider electric. Over the past two years, this initiative has brought light to homes and hope to hearts, improving the quality of life for thousands.
In the Year 2022-2023:
1,550 Solar Lights Distributed with the unwavering support of Schneider Electric, successfully across various districts in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. This initiative marked a significant milestone in our mission to provide sustainable and reliable lighting solutions to those in need.
In Tamil Nadu a total of 1050 lights were distributed for the tribal families who do not have proper access to electricity in various districts like Chengalpattu,Coimbatore, Dharmapuri,Dindivanam,Kanchipuram,Nilgiris, Thiruvannamalai, Thiruvallur,Thriuchirapalli and in Karnataka a total of 500 lights were distributed in districts like Yelandur and Hanur.
In the Year 2023-2024:
Continuing our journey of empowerment, another 1,500 solar lights were distributed . This ongoing effort showcases our dedication to ensuring that every home in these communities can enjoy the benefits of clean, renewable energy.
In Tamil Nadu a total of 1500 lights were distributed for the tribal families to various districts like Thiruvannamalai,Nilgiris,Trichy,Karur,Chengalpattu, Nilgiries,Villupram,Kallakurichi,Ariyalur, Thiruvallur.
Impact:
- The children of the tribal family can now study after dark, leading to better educational outcomes.
- Communities feel safer with welllit surroundings, reducing the risk of accidents and deterring wildlife.
- Extended hours of light allow for more productive time, supporting local businesses and household chores.
- Reduced reliance on kerosene lamps has decreased respiratory issues, leading to healthier lives.
